SiR: Orders will be sent by the Karnak, which sails for. ~4assan on the 7th in4ant, to Lieutenant Commanding Temple to proceed to Port Royal with the Flanibean and report to you for duty. Should Lieutenant Temple not feel able to retain command of the Flambcau any longer, you will assign some other officer to that vessel and permimit Lieutenant Temple to return home.

The Keystone State, now at ilampton Roads, will be ordered to join your squadrou as soon as the smallpox disappears from among her crew. I am, respectfully, your obedient servant, GIDEON WELLES.
